What is Lounge Lab?
Lounge Lab is an online community panel set up to enable like minded people to share opinions and ideas about TV, entertainment and technology, where individuals have voluntarily chosen to participate in online research studies about various topics related to their common interests.
Do I have to pay to join?
No, membership is free and open to anyone living in the UK. Participation in activities is also free. However, you will be responsible for covering any costs to you incurred by being online.
What can I do as a member?
Members can join live forums, surveys and quizzes with the chance to see exclusive videos and win prizes.
How do I know what forums and surveys are available to me?
Members will receive regular emails inviting them to complete surveys that are currently live. Members are selected for participation based on their user profile information so they can give feedback on topics that are relevant and interesting to them.
What happens to the forums and surveys I complete?
Members views and feedback will help to inspire, influence and innovate Sky UK Limited products and services.
Who runs the community panel?

A brief member profile is the only information required to join Lounge Lab. Your member profile will include basic contact information and vital data such as gender and age. Once you have signed up, questions about your interests and consumption habits will be used to ensure your member experience is more relevant to you by displaying topics you are interested in. What are Lounge Lab participants expected to do?
To become a member of Lounge Lab, you will have to sign up and create an account. Registration and participation in activities is and always will be free.
Members can log on to Lounge Lab at anytime and discover news articles, join live forums and take part in surveys.
Do I have to be a Sky UK Limited customer to join?
No, you do not have to be a Sky UK customer to join. Anyone aged 16 years old, living in the UK can sign up and take part in activities. The Lounge Lab team value the input from all members which helps to influence and improve Sky UK Limited.
How long will I be a member of Lounge Lab?
You can be a Lounge Lab member for as long as you like and you do not have to respond to all activities to which you are invited. However, if you do not participate in any survey activity over a 6 month period, we will contact you via email to check if you would like to continue as a member and remove your account if you do not respond or indicate that you would like to be removed. Members may remove themselves at any time from the website in the Profile section or click on the unsubscribe link on the email invites.
Will my profile information be sold to other companies?
The information collected by Lounge Lab is not sold or distributed to any company. All information is strictly confidential and privacy is guaranteed. What if I forget my password?
If you cannot remember your password, simply click on the "Forgot password" button on the panel login page to have it e-mailed to yourself. If you continue to experience problems you can click on Support.

What do I get in reward for contributing to Lounge Lab?
There is no payment or equivalent cash reward for being a member or taking part in Lounge Lab activities. However, to reflect the value that we place on participation in Lounge Lab, regular prize draws are run which members can enter with the stars they accumulate from completing surveys, entering profile information and completing activities on the website.
Your contribution in forums and surveys also has a direct impact shaping Sky UK Limited's products and services. To date Lounge Lab members have been responsible for naming apps, influencing the choice of TV programmes, helping develop marketing campaigns and testing new products.
How do I enter the prize draws?
The Rewards section of the website outlines the number of stars you have available as well as easy ways to collect more stars to be able to enter into the different prize draws available. Each prize draw clearly displays how many stars are needed to enter and how long the draws are open to enter. You are not limited by how many times you enter a prize draw as long as you have enough stars. An automated email will be sent to your registered email account notifying you that you have entered the prize draw. Winners of the prize draw will be contacted by email and showcased in the monthly email newsletters and on the website.
How do I receive my prize if I win a prize draw?
All prizes will be administered by a 3rd party, Edenred. All prize draw winners will be notified by the Lounge Lab team via email. Members contact email address will be passed on to Edenred who will get in touch to arrange delivery of the prize.
How do I take part in a Lounge Lab activity?
Lounge Lab is updated regularly with fresh news and exciting activities, so members can log on anytime and see different content. Members will also receive regular notifications and activity invites via email. Simply follow the instructions in the email or log on HERE to and access activities from the appropriate heading tabs on the website.
After I receive an invitation to take part in a survey, how soon do I have to complete it?
Survey availability is generally limited to a few days and in some instances can be available for a week or more. If a survey is missed, don't worry, as there are always plenty of other activities available throughout the week.
How many surveys do I have to complete?
We encourage you to participate in as many studies as you are invited to. You will earn stars for every survey you complete which you can use to enter prize draws.
Will I be able to select the types of surveys in which I participate?
Yes. We will use the information that you provide to us in the member profile surveys to send you invitations to surveys that fit your outlined preferences.
How do I complete a survey?
You will be e-mailed a unique URL address for each survey you are invited. Simply click on the URL included in the email or cut and paste the address into a web browser of your choice and complete the survey online. Alternatively you can log into the website and go the Home or Surveys page for all available surveys. Survey length is closely controlled to minimize the use of your time.
How can I be sure you got my responses?
If you would like to ensure that your responses have been received go the Survey Tab on the website and click on the survey. A message stating that you have already completed the survey will appear.
How are the results of the research used?
The research will be used to help influence Sky UK Limited decision making, ranging from types of programming to the development of new services and products . Research may also be published in the press and in Sky UK Limited publicity (e.g. newsletters). Results are reported on an aggregate level and answers are anonymised.

Will my personal information be given out to anyone without my permission?
No. All the information provided to Lounge Lab is for Sky UK Limited market research purposes only and will not be sold or distributed to any other company. In some cases, the Lounge Lab team may contact you directly about the content of that activity with some further research. In all other cases, the information you provide is strictly confidential. How do I report bad behaviour by other members?
Sky Terms and Conditions clearly states acceptable use and your use will be in accordance with conditions relating to appropriate language, images and behaviour. Members who do not comply with these guidelines will be warned and if in clear breach of the Terms & Conditions will have their account terminated. A dedicated Lounge Lab team are continually monitoring the website and on the look out for any inappropriate comments.We ask that any responses, opinions or images posted on the site are your own and comply with copyright laws.
Members can also self govern the website by clicking "report" on comments or images that they feel are offensive and are in violation of the Terms and Conditions.
Can I have more than one Lounge Lab account?
No, you may only have one Lounge Lab account. If a member creates more than one account both accounts will be terminated.
Entry to the prize draws are only open to active Lounge Lab members aged 16 or over. To enter prize draws, members must have the required amount of stars outlined on each prize they wish to enter. These can be collected by members through completing Lounge Lab activity and filling in profile information. Prize draw winner/s are determined from a random draw from all eligible entries, which will take place within 28 working days of the closing date. The winner will then be informed by email using the e-mail address provided by the member upon Lounge Lab sign up.
The Lounge Lab team will use the email address collected for the sole purpose of contacting participants should they win the prize draw. Personal data used for the prize draw will be securely destroyed within six months of the prize draw closing.
A 3rd party, Edenred will be responsible for administering all prizes. Edenred is a specialist provider in vouchers and gifts for high street retailers and department stores with over 100,000 affiliate and retail partners within the UK.
